BOSTON — There’s no better place to celebrate the Fourth of July than Boston, Massachusetts. The city’s fireworks display, accompanied by a performance by the Boston Pops, is one of the most iconic Independence Day celebrations in the country.

When are the fireworks in Boston?

The Boston Pops concert starts at 8pm on July 4, and the fireworks display is scheduled for 10:30-11pm.

“As always, the program will close with the ‘1812’ Overture and the firing of the cannons,” said Jan Devereux, spokesman for the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Where can you see Boston fireworks?

The fireworks can be seen from the Boston and Cambridge sides of the Charles River.

The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular will take place at the Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade. “The Oval” in front of the Hatch Shell opens to the public at 12:00 noon.

Who are the performers during the Boston fireworks display?

Conductor Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops are joined by guest star Kelli O’Hara, a Tony Award-winning Broadway actress. The Mavericks, Darlene Love and the Singing Sergeants of the United States Air Force Band also perform during the show.

MBTA Schedule for July 4th

The MBTA offers free subway, bus, commuter rail and ferry fares after 9:30 p.m. The subway operates on a Saturday schedule until 3 p.m., then on a weekday schedule for the remainder of the day. Buses and the Silver Line operate on a Sunday schedule. Commuter rail operates on a weekend schedule.
