Five young men from the South Carolina Upstate have been charged with murder after a homecoming after party in Georgia turned fatal last month.
Bry’shun Treviyus O’Brien Jordan, 15, died after a shooting at a nightclub party on Oct. 12 in Elbert County, Georgia, according to local reports, not far from Athens. Seven other people were injured, four by gunfire.
This week, four additional men from Anderson were arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in connection with the murder.
Destanne Mathis, 20, and Desmond Latimer, 18, were charged with murder, participating in a crime and violating the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.
Aanidras Parks, 18, and Jerimiyah Hughes, 19, were charged with murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and violating the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.
Jarquavious Demetriun Scott, 18, of Anderson, had already been charged with murder, four counts of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and violation of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.
The defendants are being held in the Elbert County Jail, officials said. An investigation is underway.
