Air Canada canceled a long-haul flight two weeks after an incident between one of its flight attendants and a passenger. The flight from Casablanca, Morocco to Montreal left the gate but never reached the runway. The flight attendant apparently had a meltdown and forced the plane to return to the terminal after a woman asked for a blanket because the cabin was too cold.
Stress levels in the air are currently quite high: an Air Canada flight from Casablanca (CMN) to Montreal (YUL) was cancelled due to inappropriate behavior by a flight attendant on July 26, 2024.

It’s unclear what prompted the flight attendant to scream, but she was filmed yelling, “You behave or we’re getting off!” The situation escalated during the meltdown when the passenger asked to speak to the captain, according to CTV News. When the plane returned to the gate, police pulled the passenger off the plane. Air Canada was forced to cancel the flight altogether as all other passengers deplaned in solidarity with the woman who was pulled out.
Air Canada offered compensation to the ejected passenger and is investigating the incident. The airline released a statement saying:
“We take this incident very seriously. It is being investigated and we will take appropriate action. We apologize to our customers and deeply regret that their experience today fell far short of what they have come to expect from Air Canada.”
This isn’t the first time Air Canada passengers have had innocent interactions with crew members escalate to ridiculous proportions. In September 2023, two passengers were thrown off a flight after refusing to sit on wet, vomit-stained seats. Cabin crew attempted to clean up the mess from an earlier flight, but the passengers demanded more cleaning supplies so they could do more themselves. The captain decided to throw them off the plane despite their willingness to endure the horrific conditions.
