There may not be a single Montreal Canadiens prospect wearing the Team Canada jersey at the World Junior Championship, but there will be a few former players wearing it during the 2024 Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland, when the game is on starts December 26.
Three full-fledged former Canadiens will be part of the team and another player who played in the organization but never got to wear the Sainte-Flanelle. 32-year-old forward Logan Shaw played his junior hockey in the QJMHL, spent parts of two seasons with the Quebec Remparts and even served as an alternate captain on the Patrick Roy-coached team.

He was drafted in the third round of the 2011 draft by the Florida Panthers, but never really established himself as an NHLer. In 2017/18, he played 30 games for the Canadiens, scoring two goals and four assists. He has played in the AHL for the past four seasons and currently plays for the Toronto Marlies.
Next up is 33-year-old left winger Daniel Carr, who played 94 games for the Canadiens over three seasons. In total, he played 117 NHL games wearing the Vegas Golden Knights, Nashville Predators and Washington Capitals colors, tallying 16 goals and 21 assists for 37 points. He now plies his trade with Lugano in the Swiss league.
Most Canadiens fans will likely be more familiar with Charles Hudon, who was drafted by the Habs in the fifth round of the 2012 draft. He played a total of 125 games with the Tricolore. He also played 9 games for the Colorado Avalanche, giving him a total of 134 games in the NHL, during which he collected 41 points.

As for center Phillipe Maillet, he was signed by the organization to a one-year deal in July 2023 but spent the entire season in the AHL, with the Laval Rocket scoring 53 points in 67 games.
Meanwhile, defenseman Noel Hoefenmayer was recently acquired by the organization in exchange for Jacob Perreault. He has played just two games with the Rocket so far and has picked up an assist.
Another defenseman, Madison Bowey, played 35 games with the Rocket in 2022-23, recording 13 points.
There you have it, the six members of the Canadiens organization who will at some point attempt to capture the Spengler Cup in Switzerland.
