Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) announced Wednesday that she plans to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in November, warning that Donald Trump poses an existential danger to the country.
“It’s critically important that people realize that what I’ve said about the danger that Trump poses is not only something that should deter people from voting for him, but I don’t believe we have the luxury of writing down the names of candidates, particularly in swing states,” Cheney said at an event at Duke University, in the swing state of North Carolina.
“As a conservative, as someone who cares deeply about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this, and because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only will I not vote for Donald Trump, I will vote for Kamala Harris,” she added, drawing applause and cheers from students in the audience.
