Everyone loves a good comeback story.
This is a story about someone who experienced success, went through some bad times, and then came out the other side with a renewed perspective and some form of success.
Detroit Red Wings fans are hoping the latest comeback story is Jakub Vrana.
Vrana started his NHL career with the Washington Capitals. He played there for almost five seasons before being traded to the Red Wings mid-season.
However, he struggled on and off the ice, which led to him being traded to the St. Louis Blues two seasons later in 2022-2023.
Last summer he signed with the Capitals, bringing things full circle.
He is off to a great start, with seven points in fourteen games and playing 10:18 per night. Vrana also scored in consecutive matches.
Last night the Capitals defeated the Vegas Golden Knights. Vrana’s goal was the winning result, resulting in a 5-2 victory.
On a team where Alex Ovechkin gets all the press, Vrana puts a respectable season on the scoresheet. This is good for all parties, both the player and the team.
Let’s hope this comeback is here to stay.
