Former Sabers come out red hot with new team

This past offseason, Eric Robinson left the Buffalo Sabers and signed a one-year, $950,000 contract with the Carolina Hurricanes. The expectation was that Robinson would be a useful depth forward for the Canes. However, so far he has been much more than just that.

Robinson is off to an excellent start with the Hurricanes. In 17 games this season, he has five goals, 12 points, 27 hits and a plus-11 rating. He’s not slowing down either, as he had a goal and two assists in his most recent game against the St. Louis Blues. Additionally, he has two goals and five points in his last four games.

This increase in offensive production is very notable for Robinson. He scored just two goals and nine points in 40 games with the Sabers last season. He’s already crushed those totals in just 17 games as a Hurricane. Additionally, if he keeps this up, he will surpass his career highs of twelve goals (2022-2023) and 27 points (2021-2022).

Nevertheless, Robinson appears to have found an incredible fit with the Hurricanes. It will be fascinating to see how he builds on this.
