The Buffalo Sabers extended their winless streak to 12 games with their 6-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs last night. It’s been awful for the Sabres, and now one of their former players has even thrown shade at them.

After the Minnesota Wild dropped their third straight game, former Saber Marcus Foligno had this to say about Buffalo, as reported by Joe Smith of The Athletic:

‘We’re fighting through it. We’re in a bit of trouble. I mean, I’d rather be in this position than in Buffalo. So you know what, it’s not that bad.’

Foligno throwing shade at the Sabers is certainly notable, as the club selected him with the 104th overall pick of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. In six seasons as a Saber from 2011-12 to 2016-17, he had 49 goals, 116 points and 1,023 hits in 347 games.

The Sabers will face Foligno and the Wild on March 22.
