Former Buffalo Sabers forward Vinnie Hinostroza is one of the NHL’s newest signings as the Nashville Predators placed him on waivers.
Hinostroza, 30, signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Predators this offseason. The Chicago, Illinois native wanted to earn a spot on the Predators’ opening night, but he didn’t make the cut.
Hinostroza spent last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins organization. In 14 games for Pittsburgh during the campaign, he had one goal, three points and a minus-3 rating. He spent most of the year in the AHL with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, where he recorded 16 goals, 35 points and a plus-1 rating in 42 games.
Hinostroza played with the Sabers in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. In 88 games as a Saber, he had 15 goals and 36 points.
