A former Cashmere High School student is arrested after a school employee was notified that threats had been made against the school.
On Wednesday, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office notified the public of this threat to the school.
According to the sheriff’s office, a Cashmere School Resource Officer received information that the former student had threatened violence against the Cashmere School District.
CCSO said that since making such threats is considered a crime, the sheriff’s office immediately responded and arrested the suspect.
The arrest took place off campus and before the start of the school day, preventing a lockdown of the school.
CCSO said the suspect was not a student after he was charged with a sex offense in 2023.
