Four face charges stemming from a drug-related search by PCSO

June 14 – A Pulaski County man and woman, as well as two juveniles, are charged following a drug-related search by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident began when the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Narcotics Division received information about a large quantity of marijuana being distributed through a residence on Dewey Poynter Road. Detectives began looking into the information and were able to establish probable cause to issue a search warrant, according to the sheriff’s office.

On Friday, June 7, at approximately 4:14 p.m., officers went to the home to execute the search warrant. Detectives spoke with a woman on the porch of the home, identified as Michelle Price, 35, of Somerset, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives explained to Price that they were there to execute a search warrant. Price told investigators her children were in the home with firearms, the sheriff’s office said.

According to the sheriff’s office, Price became combative when detectives would not allow her to use her phone to call additional people to the home. Officers arrived on scene to assist investigators.

While trying to get Price under control, a juvenile female came to the door. According to the sheriff’s office, the woman began yelling at officers to get out of the building and tried to close the door. Officers were able to hold the door and enter the home.

Once inside the home, the young woman continued to yell at police, according to the sheriff’s office, which said that standing next to the woman, in the living room, was a young man aggressively holding a knife and threatening officers. Officers were able to calm the young man down and have him put the knife away.

The young woman became combative and began attacking police when they tried to retrieve her phone, according to the sheriff’s office, which said she began kicking and swinging at police.

While trying to gain control of the young female, the young male recovered the knife, the sheriff’s office said. Officers told the juvenile to drop the knife, but instead he moved in an aggressive manner toward officers trying to detain the woman, according to the sheriff’s office, which said a Taser was deployed to prevented the young man from stabbing officers and the knife being used. restored.

After everyone was apprehended, officers contacted Somerset/Pulaski EMS to transport the young man for treatment. Officers also called the Department of Community Based Services (DCBS) to assist at the scene.

The male juvenile was transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, where he was treated and released, the sheriff’s office said.

Officers began searching the home and found a large number of firearms in the living room of the home, where the juveniles were previously located, according to the sheriff’s office, which added that officers also found a package containing more than 12 pounds of marijuana. .

Officers discovered a locked shed outside the home. When officers entered the shed, they found an indoor grow room containing seven growing marijuana plants, and also found nine bags of processed marijuana, marijuana seeds, digital scales, baggies, growing equipment and various drug paraphernalia, the sheriff said. office.

While searching the outside area of ​​the home, deputies found five growing marijuana plants, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officers were investigating the scene when a vehicle pulled into the driveway driven by Robert Price, according to the sheriff’s office, which said a search of the vehicle revealed additional firearms and marijuana, and that Price also stole more than $ 3,600 in cash in his pocket. his person.

Michelle and Robert Price were transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center where they were lodged. The juveniles were transported to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, where they met with the Court Designated Worker (CDW), according to the sheriff’s office.

The investigation is being continued by Detective Lieutenant Daryl Kegley. The Narcotics Division was assisted in the search warrant by Patrol Division, Somerset/Pulaski EMS, DBCS and the CDW’s Office.
