Four people dead after shooting in south Wichita, police say

Four people were killed after a shooting Sunday in south Wichita, a supervisor with Sedgwick County Emergency Communications said.

Shortly before 8 p.m., Wichita police posted on X that they were investigating a shooting at a home.

The shooting was reported at 5:44 p.m. Two addresses were provided: the 1700 block of Santa Fe and the 1900 block of South Laura. The supervisor said both addresses were wrapped in one call and are believed to be related. The four deaths occurred between the two addresses.

“It appears to be murder,” the supervisor said in a telephone conversation.

No other details were given; Police said updates will be provided as they become available.
