Foxtrot reopens Chicago Gold Coast store, 5 months after abrupt closures

CHICAGO (CBS) — Almost five months later abruptly close all storesLuxury supermarket chain Foxtrot Café & Market is reopening its Gold Coast branch on Thursday.

Foxtrot said the store at 23 W. Maple St. will offer expanded coffee service and new dishes, which will eventually be available at other stores the store plans to reopen.

The Gold Coast store offers an all-day menu of breakfast, lunch and afternoon meals, including breakfast tacos, paninis, salads, cookies and more. Coffee service includes The Milk Man Blend and Early Train Espresso, created for Foxtrot cafes.

Foxtrot has announced plans to reopen other stores in Chicago and Dallas next year, including locations in Fulton Market and Old Town.

Former employees of Foxtrot and Dom’s parent company Outfox Hospitality have a federal lawsuit filed They accused them of violating state and federal worker protection laws by closing stores and laying off workers without warning.
