The Colorado Association of Libraries recently presented the Volunteer of the Year Award to the Friends of the Longmont Library.
The organization received the award for its exceptional contributions and unwavering dedication to the Longmont Library, 409 Fourth Ave., and the community it serves, according to an announcement from the city.
The award was presented last week at a luncheon in Breckenridge.
The Friends of the Longmont Library are local citizens who are committed to community involvement and promoting literacy by supporting the library’s programs for adults, teens and children through financial donations and volunteer efforts, the announcement said.
