FTC report shows ‘staggering’ amount of personal data collected on social media sites – CBS News
The FTC has ordered nine companies to provide information about their data collection practices. According to the report, they collect information such as marital status, annual income, health conditions and religious affiliation through targeted advertising on and off these platforms, but do not provide users with easy ways to opt out of data collection.
