Nov. 27—As the Hunt County and North Texas community grapples with the loss of Greenville Police Officer Cooper Dawson, who was shot in the line of duty Monday night and died early Tuesday morning, many have asked for ways to provide some financial support to his family .
To date, both the Greenville Police Department and the Hunt County Behavioral Health Leadership Team are collecting donations to assist Dawson’s family with their immediate needs and memorial costs, as well as ongoing support.
Hunt County BHLT’s fundraising campaign takes the form of an online campaign.
“Let us show our gratitude for Officer Dawson’s service and sacrifice by supporting his family in their time of need,” Hunt County BHLT said on its fundraising page. “No contribution is too small and every gesture of support is greatly appreciated.”
