Gas prices in California have fallen compared to last week: see how much here

State gas prices fell for a second straight week, reaching an average of $4.68 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday, down from last week’s price of $4.81 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The average price of fuel in the state has fallen by about 37 cents since last month. Gas prices across the state last year were as low as $4.22 on Jan. 2, 2023, and as high as $5.90 on Oct. 2, 2023, according to the EIA.

A year ago, the average gasoline price in California was 1% higher at $4.71 per gallon.

The average gas price in the United States last week was $3.43, putting prices in the state about 36.5% higher than the national average. The average national gas price is down from last week’s average of $3.52 per gallon.
