Gas prices in Massachusetts are up from last week: Here’s how much

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, gas prices in the state rose last week, reaching an average of $3.46 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday. Last week, the price was $3.40 per gallon.

The average price of gas in the state has fallen about 4 cents since last month. According to the EIA, gas prices in the state over the past year have been as low as $3.07 on Jan. 29, 2024, and as high as $3.76 on Aug. 7, 2023.

A year ago, the average price of gasoline in Massachusetts was 2 percent higher, at $3.53 a gallon.

The average price of gas in the United States was $3.48 last week, making prices in the state about 0.6 percent lower than the national average. The average national gas price is up from last week’s average of $3.44 per gallon.
