Gas prices in Texas have increased compared to last week: see how much here

State gas prices rose for a second straight week, reaching an average of $2.60 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday, up from last week’s price of $2.59 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The average price of fuel in the state has increased about 2 cents since last month. Gas prices across the state last year were as low as $2.46 on Dec. 18, 2023, and as high as $3.45 on Aug. 21, 2023, according to the EIA.

A year ago, the average gas price in Texas was 2% higher at $2.64 per gallon.

The average price of gas in the United States last week was $3.04, making prices in the state about 14.7% lower than the national average. The average national gas price is down from last week’s average of $3.05 per gallon.
