Gas prices in the Rocky Mountain region are down from last week: see how much here

Regional gas prices fell for the second week in a row, reaching an average of $2.79 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday, down from last week’s price of $2.83 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The average price of fuel in the Rocky Mountain region has fallen about 32 cents since last month. Gas prices in the region last year were as low as $2.67 on January 22, 2024, and as low as $4.07 on September 18, 2023, according to the EIA.

A year ago, the average gas price in the Rocky Mountain region was 8% higher at $3.02 per gallon.

The average price of gasoline in the United States last week was $3.03, making prices in the Rocky Mountain region about 8.1% lower than the national average. The average national gas price is down from last week’s average of $3.04 per gallon.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s list of awards in the Rocky Mountain states includes Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming.
