Gas prices in the Rocky Mountain region are up from last week: Here’s how much

Regional gas prices rose last week, hitting an average of $3.35 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday, up from $3.30 per gallon last week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The average price of fuel in the Rocky Mountain region has fallen about 1 cent since last month. According to the EIA, gas prices in the region over the past year have been as low as $2.67 on Jan. 22, 2024, and as high as $4.07 on Sept. 18, 2023.

A year ago, the average price of gasoline in the Rocky Mountain region was 12 percent higher, at $3.79 a gallon.

The average gas price in the United States was $3.48 last week, making prices in the Rocky Mountain region about 3.7% lower than the national average. The national average gas price is higher than last week’s average of $3.44 per gallon.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration has been tracking prices in the Rocky Mountain states for Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming.
