The Seahawks’ 6-3 win on Thursday night was ugly, but it damned beat the alternative.
Seattle’s playoff hopes have been dwindling by the week and no result guaranteed their playoff hopes would stay alive heading into Week 18, but winning gave them the best chance and that’s where quarterback Geno Smith focused on after the match. Smith was sacked three times while leading the offense to two field goals, six punts and a turnover over the course of their game against the Bears, but the final score declared them winners and that was a happy enough ending for the quarterback.
“It won’t always be this way be sunshine and rainbowsSmith said via the team’s website. “Getting a 6-3 win feels as good as winning the Game 44-41. It’s all good to get wins.”
If the Rams lose to the Cardinals on Saturday, the Seahawks will play for the division title in Week 18. are also the case if the Rams win and don’t get a combined 3.5 wins over the Bengals, Bills, Browns, Vikings, Commanders and 49ers this weekend.
The Seahawks have no control over those outcomes, but they do have control over what happened Thursday night. Ugly or not, they got the result they needed and no one will be crying if things go well over the next two weekends.
