Georgia QB Carson Beck enters NCAA transfer portal: Report

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reports.

The 23-year-old Beck previously announced that he has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, but apparently he wants to play one more college season. He threw for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, completing 64.7% of his passes for the 11–3 Bulldogs.

His 2024 campaign ended in the SEC championship game when he suffered a sack injury just before halftime. Beck did not play in the second half except on the final play when he turned the game over to Trevor Etienne for the winning touchdown in Georgia’s 22–19 win over Texas.

Beck was eventually diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow, sidelining him for the remainder of Georgia’s season, which ended in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals with a 23–10 loss to Notre Dame at the Sugar Bowl.

Beck was a two-year starter for the Bulldogs, taking over for Stetson Bennett after Georgia won back-to-back national championships. During those two seasons, Beck completed 68% of his passes for 7,426 yards and 52 touchdowns.

With his experience and success, Beck is expected to attract a large number of players in the NIL, which certainly played a role in his decision to play his final season as a college prospect.
