The suspect accused of killing four people and wounding nine others in a shooting on Wednesday, Sept. 4, has been identified as Colt Gray, a 14-year-old male student at Apalachee High School, the Winder, Georgia, school where the attack occurred, authorities announced at a news conference.
Authorities have said the suspect will be tried as an adult for murder.
Two of the four fatalities were students at the school and two were teachers, authorities said. All nine wounded victims were shot.
Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said authorities do not know the motive.
According to authorities, reports of the shooting first came in around 10:20 a.m. and the shooter was confronted by police within minutes, before surrendering and being arrested.
The suspect has been questioned by police, authorities said.

The school was placed on lockdown after the shooting, and state authorities urged anyone in the area to stay away while they investigate.
President Joe Biden said in a statement shared by the White House on Wednesday afternoon that he “mourns the deaths” of the shooting victims and that he is “thinking of all the survivors whose lives have been changed forever.”
Vice President Kamala Harris also spoke about the shooting in a public address on Wednesday, calling the prevalence of gun violence in American schools “outrageous.”
