Germany will contribute another million to Gaza’s food supply

Germany is making an additional 19 million euros ($20 million) available for humanitarian aid to the people in the Gaza Strip, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced in Jerusalem on Tuesday.

The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the World Food Program are bringing flour and rice to starving families whose lives are in danger, because every meal, no matter how small, is vital for the children. in Gaza,” Baerbock said.

She added that each box of medical supplies from the World Health Organization (WHO) helps “restore a minimum level of medical care” in the destroyed hospitals in the Gaza Strip, which has been under heavy bombardment by Israeli forces for months.

The money will be used, among other things, to finance food baskets that cover 90% of daily calorie needs and contain flour, rice, sugar, oil, chickpeas and milk powder.
