Giants WR Malik Nabers (concussion) ruled out for Bengals game two days after attending Travis Scott concert

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers will miss a second straight game due to a concussion, the team announced Friday.

Head coach Brian Daboll said Thursday that the rookie receiver was “in the same place” regarding concussion protocol and while he is “making progress,” he has not improved enough to be considered an option to play Sunday night against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Nabers missed last week’s 29-20 win over the Seattle Seahawks after suffering the concussion late in their Week 4 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

On Wednesday, Nabers was spotted at the Travis Scott concert at MetLife Stadium. When asked if he had an issue with his star receiver attending Daboll, he said, “I’ll keep all that in house,” while adding that it wasn’t a violation of concussion protocol.

According to Art Stapleton of USA Today, Nabers is currently past the symptomatic stage and physical activity is now the key to making progress toward getting back on the field.

Nabers still leads the NFL in receptions with 35 and is eighth in receiving yards with 386.

Nabers isn’t the only injury problem for the Giants. Linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux will have to undergo week-to-week wrist surgery to repair a broken scaphoid. There is no timeline for a return and the team is unsure if he should be placed on injured reserve.
