Glendale police ordered the evacuation of an apartment building Thursday morning after a barricaded attack suspect threatened to set the building on fire.
Police received a call around 1 a.m. about an assault in the 1900 block of Vassar Street. A man attacked another person with a baseball bat, after which the suspect drove into a nearby apartment with a knife, where he remains holed up.
SWAT teams responded and ordered an evacuation of the apartment complex as the suspect threatened to set it on fire.
A negotiation team works with the suspect to surrender. The victim is being treated for his injuries.
