Grateful graduates will conclude the Class of 2024 this weekend in Abilene

Memorial Day weekend was also the weekend for high school graduation ceremonies.

Both the Abilene and Wylie independent school districts, along with others in the Big Country, sent their new graduates out into the world.

Abilene, Cooper and Wylie high schools graduated a total of 1,189 students.

While Wylie ISD held commencement at the Taylor County Coliseum, Abilene ISD continued the practice left over from the pandemic: holding a graduation ceremony at Shotwell Stadium.
