Gwinnett Animal Welfare urges residents to adopt pets during annual ‘Clear the Shelters’ adoption drive

Gwinnett Animal Welfare urges residents to adopt pets during annual ‘Clear the Shelters’ adoption drive

Gwinnett Animal Welfare and Enforcement is urging residents to open their homes and hearts to pets.

This past weekend, the organization joined shelters and rescue groups across the country for the Clear the Shelters adoption drive.

This initiative is part of an annual campaign to give shelter animals a loving home.

On Saturday afternoon, Gwinnett Animal Welfare offered free pet adoptions and hosted a Clear the Shelters party at the Bill Atkinson Animal Welfare Center.

During the event, participants could take part in hands-on activities, make crafts, listen to music, meet local vendors and much more.

POPULAR STORIES:

All animals available for adoption are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Most pets can go home on the day of adoption.

According to the region, more than one million pets have been adopted through the national campaign since 2015.

This is the seventh year that Gwinnett has participated in the event.
