Hartshorne has taken to social media to receive free pork lunches

December 21 – The Give-A-Ham campaign ended in Hartshorne with free pork lunches.

Each year, the Oklahoma Pork Council leads the Give-A-Ham campaign, “a heartfelt initiative dedicated to spreading joy and providing vital support to communities across our great state.”

Promising to honor their mission of “Giving Back, One Ham at a Time,” the Pig Council gives back by promoting unity and fighting food insecurity.

According to a statement from the Oklahoma Pork Council, giving back is a cornerstone of what Oklahoma pork farmers do. Oklahoma pig farmers find ways to give back to communities year-round with food, time, donations and more.

This year’s campaign already visited Oklahoma State University’s main campus in Stillwater, downtown Maysville, Tulsa, Wewoka, Oklahoma City and Seiling.

It ended in Hartshorne at 520 S. Fifth St. and served 300 free pork lunches to the community.

Hartshorne was selected in an online voting campaign via social media and received more than 200 votes within hours.
