YORK — York Public Library has been selected as one of three nonprofit beneficiaries of The Fabulous Find profits for September. The library is encouraging patrons and community members to donate and shop at the Kittery Thrift Store from Sept. 1-30.
The Fabulous Find, a boutique thrift store on State Road in Kittery, is a nonprofit organization called “A Caring Community.”
Each month, the luxury thrift store partners with up to three local nonprofits, splitting the profits equally among them at the end of the month.
Since opening in 2010, The Fabulous Find has awarded $2.75 million to more than 150 local nonprofits.
“There are plenty of ‘fabulous’ things to love about The Fabulous Find,” said Michelle Sampson, executive director of York Public Library. “Not only is it a great resale boutique where you can find designer clothing, jewelry, shoes and accessories for both men and women; artwork and home decor; and antiques and collectibles, but it has also been amazingly generous to area nonprofits over its 14-year history.”
“We are honored to have been selected along with Friends of Fort McClary and the Ogunquit Public Library,” she added.
The York Public Library is owned by The York Public Library Association (YPLA), which supplements municipal funding and currently covers approximately 65% of operating costs.
Library patrons and friends are encouraged to donate gently worn, luxury clothing, jewelry, home furnishings and other items to The Fabulous Find and to shop in the store to support York Public Library, Friends of Fort McClary and Ogunquit Public Library. The Fabulous Find is located at 139 State Road in Kittery and is open Wednesday through Saturday from 9:30am to 5:30pm and Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
