Here is the event schedule for the Granville 2024 Fourth of July Celebration

It’s almost time for the annual 4th of July celebration in downtown Granville.

The four-day festival, organized by the Kiwanis Club of Granville since 1964, takes place July 3-6.

Here you will find the list of activities for 2024:

Fourth of July T-shirt: The sale has begun and you can get yours at the Granville Farmers Market on Saturday mornings in June at Raccoon Valley Park.

Decorated House Competition: Decorate your home in the spirit of Independence Day and show your patriotic pride. To enter, send an email to granville4thhomes@gmail.com with your name, address and mobile phone number before July 3 at 1 p.m. The judging will take place on July 3 at 3 p.m. Awards will be given for first, second and third place and will be presented on July 4 at 7:30 pm from the main stage in downtown Granville.

Granville has talent: Show off your special talent to all of Granville. Register for the show at https://granville4th.com. Walk-ons are welcome if time permits. The show will take place on July 3 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on the main stage. It is a competition without a jury, with prizes for participants and the public.

Decorated Cycling Competition: Decorate your bike to show off your patriotic spirit. Judging will take place on July 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Thresher Street and West Broadway. Prizes are awarded for the three best bicycles and then the participants ride in the parade.

Fourth of July Parade: The parade begins on West Broadway near Wildwood Park at 10:45 a.m. on July 4. The parade takes place rain or shine. This year’s grand marshal is Bruce Cramer, who retired last year after 18 years as the Bryn Du Mansion’s first executive director.

Decorated Float Competition: The theme of this year’s parade is Stars, Stripes & SPIRIT. Businesses and neighborhoods are encouraged to participate in the annual Mile Long Parade. Prizes will be awarded in various categories, including Community Floats, Commercial Floats and Open Floats. The grand prize for the best float in the parade is the Ike Fuller Award.

Patriotic Pet Contest: Your pet can show off their patriotic spirit during this competition on July 4th from 5:30-6:00 pm on the main stage. There will be prizes for the top three based on creativity, uniqueness and costume quality. You can register your pet on site.

McGuffey Lane performance: The central Ohio band will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a free show on its downtown stage on July 4 at 8 p.m., sponsored by Duchess Convenience Stores.

Behind the Velvet Rope Open House at the Bryn Du Mansion: Visitors will have the unique opportunity to explore exclusive areas of the mansion which are usually closed to the public on July 5 from 10am to 2pm.

Fireworks: This year the exhibition takes place on July 5, sponsored by the Granville Community Foundation. Pre-show music by the Big Badd, sponsored by Hinderer Motor Company, and refreshments at Wildwood Park from 6 p.m.

Annual photography competition: This year photos have to be taken in Granville. Prizes will be awarded in eight categories: Fireworks, Games/Rides, Granville Celebration, Macro/Floral, Parade/Independence Day, Scenic Granville, Black and White, Reflections. The awards ceremony and exhibition will take place from September 6 to 8 at the Bryn Du Art Centre, with support from the Granville Arts Commission. The entry deadline is July 31 and full competition information is available at https://granville4th.com.
