Nuclear energy-related stocks have risen following major announcements from Alphabet, Inc.‘s (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Googling And Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) as the tech industry turns to nuclear power to power AI data centers. Here are a few stocks that could benefit from the market’s nuclear trend.

Last week, both Google and Amazon announced major nuclear power deals with private companies for small modular reactors (SMR). Google has signed a major deal with Kairos power and Amazon signed a deal Energy Northwest to build four advanced SMRs.

Both Kairos Power and Energy Northwest are private companies. However, there are several publicly traded companies that focus on SBEs.

  • Oklo, Inc. (NYSE:OKLO) is developing fast fission power plants to deliver nuclear power on a large scale and is considering OpenAI’s Sam Altman as chairman of the board. The stock is up more than 190% in the past month as nuclear trading takes off.

  • NuScale Power Corp. (NYSE:SMR) is developing modular nuclear power plants with light water reactors and its stock price has risen almost 100% in the past month.

  • Nano Nuclear Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:NNE) is a developer of portable, on-demand and advanced nuclear microreactors. Nano Nuclear Energy stock has risen 85% in the past month.

Energy company shares have also risen as data centers and AI applications increase energy demand for emerging technologies.

  • Constellation Energy Corp. (NASDAQ:CEG) a huge deal with Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT) in September, which included plans to restart Unit 1 of the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant. The reopening is part of a 20-year power purchase agreement to power Microsoft’s AI data centers.

  • Vistra Corp. (NYSE:VST) is one of the largest power producers and retail energy suppliers in the U.S., owning 41 gigawatts of nuclear, coal, natural gas and solar power. The stock is also the best performer in the S&P 500 through 2024, beating other AI-related names including NVIDIA Corp. which delivered the best performance in 2023.
