Since 2018, co-anchor of the popular morning show (and co-host of Today with Hoda and Jenna)Kotb walks away from the prestigious performance on January 10. However, she is not retiring.

“I’m starting a wellness app and a company that includes retreats and a podcast and all kinds of things that we can do together, doing things that I love,” she said. “It’s not like going to Mexico with your girls, which is fun, but this is something where when you leave you’re like, ‘Oh my God.’ I feel transformed. I feel different. ”

She added, “I started doing things that I thought seemed woo-woo and weird. Then, as I was doing it, I suddenly thought, ‘Wait, I feel calmer. I feel better.’ Woowoo makes you feel good.”

Kotb said the company is still in development and expected to launch in the spring.

Kotb will remain at NBC in an unspecified role

When Kotb announced her departure, she said, “I plan to remain part of the NBC family.” Her co-host Savannah Guthrie reiterated this on air, saying, “I need to let people know that she is not leaving the NBC family. You will see her, and we will see her.”

Kotb has not yet elaborated on what her new role will be, but the New York Times reported in November that she will “continue to contribute to [Today]”, so expect to hear more about that.

Kotb will have a lot more time with her two daughters

The journalist became a mother through adoption later in life and is raising daughters, Hope, 5, and Haley, 7. They recently moved from New York City to the suburbs of Westchester, where they love their new home and neighborhood.

Hoda said turning 60 last year made her reprioritize because she missed time with her girls and they “need and deserve a bigger share of my time.” For Todayshe was up at 3 a.m. and on set at 5:30 a.m., so she couldn’t take her kids to school or see them in the morning.

In her new life afterwards TodayKotb will wake up at 5:15 a.m. starting Monday for a 5:30 a.m. SoulCycle class in her new city. She will be home around 6:30 a.m. and feed her children breakfast, she told Women’s Health. Then: ‘I’m going to take them to school with a Yeti mug full of coffee with whipped cream in it. I’m going to walk home slowly.”

However, there won’t be much lounging. After she finishes school, she will work on her business, she told Today.com. She will also schedule lunch dates with people who inspire her to unleash her creativity. She will also prioritize a daily walk. Then she picks up her girls from school.

Kotb said she will also make time for ‘journaling, meditation’ [and] prayers.”

What awaits us? Today?

After this epic farewell to the well-known host – which saw her reunite with her sorority sisters and blush over famous crush Blake Shelton, Craig Melvin will step into his role as her replacement.

“He is a serious journalist, but he is also good company,” Kotb said of Melvin. ‘Being good company is important right now. Being good company when you have a bowl of cereal and coffee at home is important.”

As for the Hoda & Jenna hour, Jenna Bush Hager flies solo after Kotb says goodbye with a rotating group of special guests until a permanent successor is announced. The show will temporarily have a new name Today with Jenna and friends.
