The average home sold for $166,190, an analysis of data from Realtor.com shows. This means that September, the most recent month for which figures are available, was 4.4% lower than August.
Compared to September 2023, the average home sales price was 8.3% higher at $153,415.
Realtor.com pulls sales data from real estate deeds, resulting in a lag of a few months in the data. The statistics do not include homes currently for sale and are not directly comparable to listing data.

In September, the number of recorded sales in Potter County fell 23.3% since September 2023 – from 215 to 165. All residential sales totaled $19.9 million.
Across Texas, homes sold at a median value of $312,399 in September, down 0.8% from $315,026 in August. There were 31,541 sales recorded across the state in September, down 6.9% from the 33,878 sales recorded in September 2023.

The median provides a more accurate picture of what’s happening in a market than the average sales price, which would involve taking the sum of all sales prices and then dividing it by the number of homes sold.
