The 49ers and Vikings are both 1-0 thanks to big wins over teams from New York. The Vikings’ defense the Giants suppressed in a 28-6 loss, while the 49ers’ offense skated to a 32-19 victory over the Jets.
Both teams will be without key offensive weapons on Sunday. San Francisco’s do-it-all running back Christian McCaffrey will miss a second straight game. Minnesota’s No. 2 receiver is Jordan Addison ruled out with an ankle injury.
Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports said Sam Darnold’s performance will again the key to the gamewhile Brian Flores’ defense will have to do its utmost to contain the 49ers’ fearsome offense.
Kickoff is at 12:00 noon on Sunday at US Bank Stadium.
