It’s time for the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500! This weekend will be the busiest of the year for motorsport fans as the Indy 500, Monaco Grand Prix and Coca-Cola 600 all race on the same day. But the Indy 500, often called the “greatest racing spectacle,” will likely dominate headlines and TVs across the country (unless maybe Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce really Doing attend the F1 race in Monaco). The 2024 Indy 500 will see NASCAR star Kyle Larson make his IndyCar racing debut before taking flight later that evening to race in the Coca-Cola 600. Josef Newgarden, the current defending Indy 500 champion, is on the front row, third on the grid, next to Penske’s leading driver, Will Power, who is in second. The action at The Brickyard is already underway, with the final practice and Pit Stop Challenge scheduled for later this afternoon.

The Indy 500 is this Sunday, May 26. Coverage begins at 11 a.m. ET on Sunday with the green flag dropping at the track at 12:45 p.m. However, the action at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway track is already underway. with final practice and the Indy 500 Pit Stop Challenge later this afternoon at Peacock.

NBC is the network home for the 2024 Indy 500, with Peacock streaming all the action during the practice, warm-up and qualifying rounds and the official race.

The track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, also called The Brickyard, is a rectangular oval 2.5 miles long. The aptly named Indy 500 race completes 200 laps of the track, which equates to 500 miles.

Josef Newgarden is the current defending Indy 500 champion and will be third on row 1 of the grid this Sunday. NASCAR star Kyle Larson will race in the Indy 500 on Sunday afternoon before flying to Charlotte on Sunday evening for NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600. Pending all goes smoothly, Larson will become the fifth driver to ever run both races, and the first to double-dip has since Kurt Busch in 2014.

Larson will also be joined on the track by fellow NASCAR driver Katherine Legge, who will be the only woman on the Indy 500 starting grid. This race will be Legge’s fourth time participating in the Indy 500.
