First Alert Meteorologist Corey Simma is keeping an eye on the tropics. He says the tropics are behaving like August, which means it’s busy.

Hurricane Beryl is the earliest Cat. 4 hurricane to ever form in the Atlantic. And that makes Beryl the strongest June hurricane ever.

Beryl will be a great success in the Windward Islands (Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Vincent).

The hurricane will reach the Caribbean Sea early Monday morning.

Confidence in the forecast that Beryl will remain south of Florida and the US is increasing daily. But Beryl could still be problematic for Hispaniola, Cuba and Jamaica.

Long-term forecasts bring Beryl to Mexico and the Yucatán Peninsula.

At 5:00 PM Sunday, Tropical Depression #3 formed in the southern Gulf. It could strengthen into a named storm (believed to be “Chris”).

But it is about to move overland and does not have much time to strengthen.

TD #3 is also no problem for Florida.
