PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It was a perfect evening at the Mann Center on Tuesday when a breeze blew through after a hell of a day.
“It’s amazing. I’m so excited to be here tonight,” said Michele Lofton.
“I know there’s always a breeze in Mann, so I thought we’d be fine, and it’s beautiful here. This is my favorite concert venue,” said Linda Absil.
As the sun set, many people brought their own picnics to the lawn to enjoy the Philadelphia Orchestra’s outdoor concert, part of the Summer Picnic series.
To keep people cool, the Mann set up misting stations and water refilling stations.
While the hall was full, the heat chased a few away.
“We had 11 people and there are only five left. Sorry everyone, it worked really well. It’s not even too hot,” said Michele Meginley.
Others said they would come anyway.
“We came anyway. We came with full force anyway,” said Judyann Sheehan. “We didn’t care how hot it was today.”
