Indian textile and garment exports rise on the back of innovation for Gartex Texprocess

Gartex Texprocess India apparel and textile trade fair will take place from 1 to 3 August at Yashobhoomi (IICC), Dwarka, New Delhi.

Expectations of a boost to the manufacturing sector, the signing of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), the recent growth in textile exports and the Indian government’s focus on making India a ‘global manufacturing hub’ have created encouraging prospects for stakeholders in the Indian textile value chain.

More than 600 clothing and textile brands, spread over an area of ​​15,000 m2, will show their qualities during the upcoming edition of Gartex Texprocess. The global excellence in textile solutions from countries such as China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and the US will also be demonstrated.

According to the organisers, the recent increase in textile and apparel exports of 9.59% and 9.70% respectively in May 2024, according to the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), irrespective of the global economic and political landscape, is a positive sign that is cheering the Indian textile sector.

According to the India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF), the Indian textile and apparel market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10% to reach USD 350 billion by 2030, with expected exports of USD 100 billion. The Indian textile sector is expected to be further strengthened by innovations from fabric, garment and apparel manufacturers, textile machinery companies, allied industries and future plans and policies of the Indian government.

The show floor is sold out with leading Indian brands such as AT Inks, Aura Technologies, BABA Textile Machinery, Benz Embroidery, Britomatics India, Chetna Fashions, DCC Print Vision, Jaysynth Dyestuff India and True Colors.

International brands include Baoyou, Brother, Datatex, Dupont, Jack, Kansai, SinSim, Siruba and Yumei.

The three days of the show will be dedicated to new product launches and exhibitors showcasing their latest offerings. The show will feature curated zones for product categories such as ‘knitting, sewing machines, digital printing, embroidery, fabrics and embellishments.’

There will also be carefully curated knowledge sessions with a panel of government officials from the relevant ministries, industry experts and innovators from textile associations and companies.
