Much of Indiana Avenue between South Loop 289 and 75th Street was closed early Sunday due to a fire hydrant leak following a crash.

According to a statement from the Lubbock Police Department, all southbound lanes of Indiana Avenue between South Loop 289 and 75th Street were closed shortly after noon, while northbound lanes were also limited to one lane due to the water leak.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area.

Other details about the first crash were not immediately available as the response and investigation are ongoing.
