Workers in several states and cities will see a minimum wage increase take effect on January 1, 2025, as they continue to battle high prices.

Here are the 23 states that will increase the minimum wage by 2025:

  • Alaska: $11.73 increased to $11.91

  • Arizona: $14.35 increased to $14.70

  • California: Increase $16 to $16.50

  • Colorado: Increased $14.42 to $14.81

  • Connecticut: $15.69 increased to $16.35

  • Delaware: $13.25 increased to $15

  • Illinois: Increase $14 to $15

  • Maine: $14.15 increased to $14.65

  • Michigan: $10.33 increased to $10.56

  • Minnesota: Large and small employers increase to $11.13

  • Missouri: $12.30 increased to $13.75

  • Montana: $10.30 increased to $10.55

  • Nebraska: Increase $12 to $13.50

  • New Jersey: $15.13 increased to $15.49

  • New York (up north): Increase $15 to $15.50

  • New York: Increase $16 to $16.50

  • Ohio: $10.45 increased to $10.70

  • Rhode Island: Increase $14 to $15

  • South Dakota: Increase $11.20 to $11.50

  • Vermont: $13.67 increased to $14.01

  • Virginia: Increase $12 to $12.41

  • Washington: $16.28 increased to $16.66

What is the minimum wage in Georgia?

Technically, the state minimum wage law is $5.15, but it defaults to the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act in that it is higher at $7.25.
