Amazon’s Prime Day in October is right around the corner (October 8th and 9th) and it will be serving up thousands of deals you won’t want to miss. There’s just one catch: you have to Primary Member to get the best deals. But with Prime subscription costs constantly rising, it might not be in your budget to join right now. Luckily, there’s another shopping membership option you can go to for a much lower price: Walmart+. Plus, Walmart has a competitive Prime Day salethe Holiday Deals event that runs concurrently with Prime Day in October.
There are plenty of good reasons to sign up for Walmart+ now, most notably the fact that members will get early access to the Holiday Deals event on Tuesday, October 8. Walmart+ members will get exclusive access to the Holiday Deals event on the Walmart site and app starting at 12 a.m. ET, 12 hours before anyone else.

What is Walmart+?
Walmart+ is a direct competitor to Amazon Prime. It offers free two-day shipping on purchases made at Walmart.com, plus a host of other discounts on prescription medications, gas, and more. Walmart+ members can also get same-day delivery on purchases from their local store (where available), including groceries like milk and eggs. There’s even a new dining benefit with Burger Kingwhere you get 25% off Burger King digital orders every day and a free grilled Whopper every three months. And of course, Walmart+ members get early access to special sales events like the Holiday Deals event and Walmart’s annual Black Friday sale.
If you shop at Walmart regularly, Walmart+ will save you money. A Walmart+ membership normally costs $98, or $40 less than its main competitor in the membership service, Amazon Prime. But right now you can try it out for free for 30 days and get free shipping and same-day delivery.
Walmart+ is a cheaper alternative to Amazon Prime
A Amazon Prime Membership costs $139 per year. Monthly subscribers now pay $14.99 per month. Note: A 50% discount on membership is available for government recipients.
If you’re looking for a money-saving alternative to Amazon Prime, Walmart+ might be right up your alley. The service, which also offers fast and free shipping with no minimum purchase, normally costs $12.95 per month or $98 per year.
Another money-saving advantage: Walmart has lower minimums for free local grocery delivery than Amazon. And because Walmart has so many more physical locations than Amazon Fresh, you’re more likely to be in Walmart’s same-day grocery delivery zone than Amazon’s.

Walmart+ members can also take advantage of member prices at Sams Club fuel centers.
Members get free tire repair at Walmart’s Auto Care Centers
When Walmart+ members buy tires at Walmart, they can get free flat tire repairs at Walmart’s Auto Care Centers and receive a free warranty against road hazards. Since Walmart has a lot of great tire deals throughout the year, this is a nice perk for Walmart+ members who live near a Walmart Auto Care Center (they’re usually attached to Walmart stores).
