MINNEAPOLIS – After a morning of isolated showers in the Twin Cities, sunshine will make an appearance Sunday afternoon.

The forecast high temperature for today will be in the low 70s and winds will not be as strong as Saturday.

It will remain generally sunny to partly cloudy as the night progresses, and Memorial Day will start off clear and calm before a new storm system comes into view. Highs will be in the upper 60s.

Widespread showers will occur in the afternoon, especially in southeastern Minnesota, but nothing severe is expected other than some occasional thunderclaps. The system will be empty on Monday evening.

We will dry out Tuesday with highs in the low 70s. Temperatures will climb into the 80s on both Wednesday and Thursday.

It could also be active next weekend, with a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday.
