Israel is putting pressure on the G20 countries ahead of the Rio summit

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has criticized the draft of the planned final statement of the upcoming G20 summit in Brazil, which will address the conflict in the Gaza Strip, calling it “unbalanced and biased”.

Saar said on social media platform

“This was in light of information we received about a draft summary resolution that is both unbalanced and biased against Israel,” Saar said.

“In my discussions with my colleagues, I have stated that the summary statement addressing the conflict in our region must include the recognition of Israel’s right to defend itself, a demand for the release of all hostages exceeding Being held by Hamas terrorists in horrible conditions for 400 days. and condemnation of both Hamas and Hezbollah.”

Saar went on to say that any statement that does not address these elements “will harm peace and security, and will only serve to encourage Iran and its allies to continue spreading instability in the Middle East .”

Iran is considered the main supporter of the Palestinian militant organization Hamas and the militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon, as well as several other militias in the Middle East hostile to Israel.

Israel is not a member of the G20, which considers Saudi Arabia the only Arab member.
