According to official figures, Israeli defense exports reached a new record last year.
The Defense Ministry announced Monday that Israeli arms exports in 2023 amounted to the equivalent of about $12.9 billion – the third year in a row that arms exports broke records.
Israeli arms exports have doubled in the past five years.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said: “Israel continues to succeed in its international cooperation and defense industrial exports, even during a year marked by war.”
According to the ministry, 36% of revenues came from agreements in the field of missile and air defense systems.
About 48% of arms exports went to the Asia-Pacific region, 35% to Europe and 9% to North America. Smaller percentages went to Latin America and to Arab countries with which Israel recently signed the so-called Abraham Accords, and to Africa, which accounted for only 1%.
Germany has purchased Israel’s Arrow 3 very long-range missile defense system, which is scheduled for delivery in 2025. Israeli exports in 2023 are comparable to German arms exports last year.
