The Israeli army bombed targets near Lebanon’s coastal city of Tire late Wednesday, killing at least nine people and wounding 65 others, the Health Ministry said.
Rescuers were still working to remove people from the rubble in Maarkeh in Tire governorate, the ministry said.
Further east, Israeli ground forces continued their offensive and advanced towards the border area town of Kafrshuba, according to media reports.
This new raid coincides with ongoing Israeli ground operations in the southern neighborhoods and eastern outskirts of Khiam, where there have been reports of heavy fighting between Israeli forces and Hezbollah militia fighters for days.
Hezbollah said it had, among other things, attacked a gathering of Israeli soldiers with rockets in the area.
