Neighbors in Sierra Madre were startled on Thursday after a bear entered four homes and one garage before being diverted by police to the nature reserve north of the city.

The bear was reported in the northeast part of the city between 12:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. Sierra Madre police responded to multiple calls of bear activity, requiring emergency response, according to City of Sierra management analyst James Carlson. Mother.

At the time the bear was there, only one of the houses was occupied.
