Detroit legends Jack White and Diana Ross are among the musicians who will take part in an Eminem-produced concert celebrating the grand reopening of Michigan Central Station on June 6. The event will be streamed live on Peacock beginning at 8:30 PM ET. Additionally, a one-hour primetime rebroadcast will air on NBC on June 9 at 7:00 PM ET/PT.

The historic train depot first opened in 1913, but closed in 1988 and remained empty until it was purchased by the Ford Motor Company in 2018. Now, after a six-year restoration, it will reopen as a mixed-use facility.

To celebrate the reopening, Eminem and his longtime manager, Paul Rosenberg, are producing a 90-minute concert featuring some of Detroit’s biggest stars. In addition to White and Ross, other artists scheduled to perform include Big Sean, Illa J, Kierra Sheard, Theo Parrish, Slum Village, The Clark Sisters, Sky Jetta and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

The concert also promises performances from non-Detroit artists including Common, Fantasia, Melissa Etheridge and Jelly Roll.

“It is an honor to pay this tribute to my hometown of Detroit and to Michigan Central, creating the greatest evening of music in our city’s history, highlighting our deep-rooted cultural influence and symbolizing our impact in Detroit on the world” , Eminem said. a statement. “This moment has been decades in the making and will be as iconic to our community as the Motown Showcase, uniting multiple generations of artists and fans.”

Last week, Eminem previewed his upcoming studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), with the release of his new single ‘Houdini’. As for White, this is his first confirmed live performance since wrapping up his “Supply Chain Issues Tour” and appearing on it Saturday evening live early 2023.

Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly listed Eminem as an artist. Currently, Eminem is only producing the concert.
