Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets are working on an extension that will keep the point guard in Denver for the foreseeable future. Murray and the Nuggets are negotiating a four-year contract extension worth up to $209 million, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
According to Charania, negotiations will take place this offseason, with the Nuggets presenting the deal to Murray. Both sides are expected to agree to terms.

Murray was selected seventh overall by Denver in 2016 and has been a key player for the Nuggets in recent seasons. He has been a regular starter since 2019. In 2019, he signed a five-year, $170 million contract extension with Denver.
This season, Murray averaged a career-high 21.2 points per game, second-most on the team behind reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokić, while averaging 4.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists.
Murray missed the 2021-22 season as he recovered from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Returning to play in the 2022-2023 season, the Canadian guard helped lead the team to an NBA championship in 2023. Murray appeared in multiple games in the Nuggets’ 4-1 series victory over the Miami Heat in the finals, including a 30-point triple-double in Game 3.
